On Saturday afternoon, September 17, dozens of Long Beach Comic Con attendees assembled in the Creator's Lab room for the #MakeComics series feature, “The Art of Lettering.” Serving as moderator, Fanbase Press Editiorials Manager Michele Brittany introduced Richard Starkings, letterer and founder of font design firm Comicraft. Starkings has lettered for publishers starting with 2000 AD, Marvel, DC Comics, Dark Horse, Image, and several others throughout his career. The #MakeComics panel series offered by Long Beach Comic Con is a fantastic opportunity for creators to learn new skills or brush up on existing ones. For a few dozen attendees last Saturday, September 17, colorists Beth Sotelo and Brian Miller discussed the techniques of their craft in a “Coloring Like a Pro” panel. Visual examples complemented their explanations and resulted in a more well-rounded presentation for the audience. In this Fanbase Feature, we provide the audio from the panel.
